In ‘What On Earth Are You Talking About?’, players take on the role of Humans, who are trying to translate uniquely human concepts, and Aliens, who are trying to guess what on earth the Humans are talking about!
This campaign will be 100% PAY WHAT YOU WANT. Yep, when this thing launches you will be able to get a copy for whatever price you think is fair. But why?
'What On Earth Are You Talking About?' is already an established game - we launched on Kickstarter back in 2023, produced the game and got it into retailers across the world. There was just one small issue - the box was not small, it was gargantuan and very very expensive to produce. So, we knew we wanted to reprint it, but something had to change.
We asked ourselves, what if we could produce this game - a game we love and know others will love too - for a fraction of the cost? What came from those brainstorms is a pocket-sized party game paired with a really damn cool (yeah, we said it) custom-built web app. Load up the Control Center and grab the Translator Cards inside the box, and you're good to go! But none of this matters if people don't know about the game, so to do something a little bit different we figured 'why not do a pay-what-you-want Kickstarter, and get this game into as many homes as we possibly can?'. And so here we are!
In ‘What On Earth Are You Talking About?’, you are translating quintessentially human concepts to your alien abductors, but there’s an extraterrestrial twist! You must only speak in sentences using the letters on your Translator Cards, while the aliens try to guess what on earth you are talking about!
For example, if the concept was 'Tutorial' or 'Rulebook' - and you had the letters H O E D Y P - you might say
'How On Earth Do You Play?'
The Aliens race to score points by being the first to guess a concept, while the Humans are rewarded with Booster Points for their (inter)stellar translating skills. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins!
